"Marcello Mio" examines the themes of family lineage, the lasting power of memories, and how the perceptions of others influence the construction of one’s self-image.
Chiara is an actress, the daughter of Marcello Mastroianni and Catherine Deneuve. One summer, during a tumultuous time in her life, she decides she would prefer to live her father’s life.
In her quest for identity, she dresses like him, speaks like him, and even breathes like him. With such intensity, those around her begin to believe in this transformation and start to call her “Marcello.”
