"[...]easily one of the best, most seamless films I’ve seen on the experience of growing up online. Dìdi has a clear antecedent in fellow Sundance alum Eighth Grade [...]" - Adrian Horton, The Guardian
Sean Wang's directorial debut, "Dìdi," is a heartfelt coming-of-age comedy about a 13-year-old Taiwanese American boy navigating the challenges of adolescence in the summer before high school.
Set in 2008, the film follows the awkward teen as he learns valuable life lessons outside his family’s influence—like skating, flirting, and understanding his relationship with his mom.
Featuring standout performances by Izaac Wang and Joan Chen, "Dìdi" won the Audience Award and Special Jury Award for Ensemble at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival.
